Unfortunately, pregnancy and babies do not come with a manual. However, we have partnered with the Sevier County Health Department and other organizations to provide helpful information to you. Just click on the links below.

We provide you here with the steps to follow, and places to register, in order, once you know you are pregnant.

PREGNANCY RESOURCE CENTER OF SEVIERVILLE.

If you do not have a doctor, they could recommend one. They also do ultrasounds in early pregnancy.

TennCare Medicaid.
TennCare is the state of Tennessee’s Medicaid program. It provides healthcare to mostly low-income pregnant women, parents or caretakers of a minor child, children and individuals who are elderly or have a disability. To get Medicaid, you must meet the income and resource limits. You can apply anytime for TennCare.

Healthy Families East Tennessee (HFET)
HFET is a free and voluntary, child abuse prevention, home visitation program. Families in this program have access to a food bank, baby necessities and safety items such as diapers, car seats and cribs. Enrollment occurs when the family is pregnant, or before the youngest child is 3 months old. Being a first-time parent is preferred, but it is not a requirement for eligibility.
We accept Spanish speaking referrals, using a translator devise.

The Sevier County Health Department Care Coordination and Home Visitation Program: CHANT
CHANT services provide referrals and resources that impact pregnancy, child, and maternal health outcomes. Pregnant, postpartum adolescents and women, children under the age of 5, TennCare Kids and Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs are all eligible. Our communication is via phone and mail, and we have interpreter services available if needed. Pregnant women will be provided with a FREE playpen. To speak with her or make a referral, please call 865-453-1032 ext.6222.

FREE BREAST PUMP:
Clients on Tenn-Care are eligible to receive a FREE electric double breast pump.
Request a prescription from your doctor. Go online to www.aeroflow.com. Call the number on the website. Request an electric double breast pump. You must provide them your complete address. They will mail it to you.

TennCare Diaper Benefit
TennCare and CoverKids member under age two (ONLY) qualify for up to 100 diapers a month at NO COST or copay.
You do not need a prescription; simply present your child’s pharmacy ID card at the counter. If your child is a newborn without a card, the pharmacy can use the mother’s pharmacy ID card or Social Security number.
TennCare will cover popular diaper brands and offer a variety of diaper types to meet your family’s needs. For more information on diaper brans and types, visit TN.gov/TennCare/diapers. Your pharmacy may not stock all the brans covered or have a stocked supply of your preferred brand. You may want to call your pharmacy ahead of time.

Step Ahead Foundation
Step A Head Foundation is working with area providers to issue family planning at NO cost to families. Citizenship is not an issue for services. Their link is below for information.
Basically, women text to their number what they are needing. Someone will reach back out to them and schedule an appointment.

Mountain Hope and Rural Medical Services have partnered with A Step Ahead. When calling or texting, please say or text that you are interested in the program and would like to schedule an appointment with either Mountain Hope or Rural Medical Services. You choose where you want to go. A Step Ahead will do the referral and the service will be completely FREE.

Fertility Awareness
Fertility Awareness
PAC’s Fertility Awareness program offers women and their partners a deeper understanding of the design of the female body and reproductive system. Based in Fertility Education and Medical Management (FEMM) principles, the program arms women with information to help care for their bodies and provide natural options for family planning.
Education
⦁ Fertility Awareness is integrated into PAC’s semester-long parenting classes and mini-course series. Topics include understanding your cycles, hormones and stress and family planning options.⦁ Sign up for classes here.
Mentoring
⦁ 1:1 sessions with our FEMM specialist or medical professionals are available, allowing for private conversations and personalized Q&A.
Personalized Coach
⦁ PAC offers 3-month, personalized coaching sessions to help women track their cycles and learn about the intricacies of hormonal fluctuations and their connection to whole-body health.

Women Infant and Children (WIC):
This program is offered to pregnant women and new Moms up to six months after delivery, breastfeeding Moms up to one year after delivery, infant, and children under the age of five years who live in Tennessee and meet income and program eligibility and guidelines.
We are located at the Sevier County Health Department (719 Middle Creek Rd, Sevierville). Call for an appointment 865-453-1032. Hours of operation: Monday thru Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
Crianza Con Cariño Program:
It is a program in collaboration with Tn DCS, V TN Voices and KidCentral TN. The Evidence-Based Parenting Program builds protective factors in families that, when present, increase well-being of children and families.
Parenting classes are all FREE!
